The BBC has apologised to US President Donald Trump over the editing of a speech on a Panorama documentary, claiming it was an "error of judgement", but rejected his claim for compensation. The documentary featured two clips from a speech made by Trump on January 6 2021 which were spliced together, reportedly making it appear that he was encouraging his supporters to riot. The broadcaster confirmed the programme, which aired in 2024, would not be broadcast again "in this form" on any BBC platforms.
