I think the top of Major League Baseball is becoming pretty clear. The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Milwaukee Brewers have established themselves as the two teams to beat heading into the trade deadline. The bigger debate is who claims the No. 3 spot. For much of the season, I had the Philadelphia Phillies there, but they've cooled off recently and don't look quite as complete. My pick is the Tampa Bay Rays. With new ownership in place, I think they'll be more aggressive than we've seen in previous years. I don't expect them to pursue Tarik Skubal, but I do think they'll target players with multiple years of team control who fit both their present and future. I also expect the Brewers to make meaningful additions as they try to keep pace with the Dodgers.
