With large parts of Europe experiencing a heatwave this week, the Nordic countries have seen themselves becoming increasingly attractive to tourists looking for a “coolcation” in summer. Europe is braced for further disruption this week as a deadly heatwave sweeps across the continent, as schools have closed in some countries, trains have been disrupted and hospitals across the continent are preparing for an influx of heat-afflicted patients. Here in Ireland, a Status Yellow high temperature warning begins at midday and will last until 9am on Friday for the whole country.
