Most thought Luna would leave the nest first yet Sandy was the first to take the leap of faith. Sandy had a little encouragement from Luna as she fell, then held onto the front of the nest, then slipped to a lower branch. It was a long wait of 5 minutes and 36 seconds then Sandy took flight. Big Bear Lake Bald Eagles are never boring as there is always something interesting going on. Today was no exception. This video was produced by Owen Phairis and Trisha Dale Green.
